December 2009

We have eight great new stories and a new serial.  Once a year we have a themed issue of Wilde Oats.  The theme for this issue is Gays and Marriage: not just gay marriage but how gay men are affected by the institution of marriage.

The Prince's Bride
by Alex Hogan
Around the forgotten parts of the city, the dark corners, the alleyways, hidden from the searching torchlight of police and charity workers, are the lost boys, the abandoned ones. May I gather with them in their loneliness, and tell them a fairy tale to warm their nights, a story of a Prince who – like them – never wanted to marry.
Sater
by Chris Castle
Horror movies, a film star, and a chance to reconnect and to love again.
The De Gauss
by Ryan Burden
A married couple applies to join a club which only accepts married members.  There is just one small problem....
The Wedding Party
by J A Zecca
The bus driving the wedding party home from the reception has gone off the road somewhere out in the country, and whoever steps outside it disappears.
Second Chances
by Matt Brooks
Can friends with benefits move into spousal benefits territory after years of resistance? Tony and Nick fit together like two best buddies, two lovers, husband and husband.  But they'd been lovers years ago.  Are there second chances?

Hole in the Head
by Mallory Path
"He turns around—and sees dangerous.
Most favorable dangerous.  Fucking perfect dangerous.
"
The Role Model
by Anne Eldridge
Memories, bitter and sad.  Two marriages and loves and the prices they all paid.
The Gift
by Nexis Pas

For a one-night stand, Taz was very good in bed, but he got on James's nerves, and now he doesn't seem to get the message that James isn't interested.

Alma's Will
by Anel Viz
(The first two of four parts can be found in this issue.  Parts three and four will be in the April issue.)

When her mother's will is read, Liv discovers that the old woman has instructed that the house she grew up in be used as a safe home for gay teenagers rejected by their families. She decides to contest it.
